I used to call Wavelord "Overlord," before that name was used for a villian in Erik Larsen's "The Savage Dragon" comic, and Saturday morning cartoon. This is a nice, light hearted one-pager, with some cameo graffiti of both myself (bang!137), and a tag I "shared" with my old friend Danny (SHOCK!), who is no longer with us. I love this one!

Deathlok, aka Col. Luther Manning, debuted in Marvel Comics shortly after the Six-Million Dollar Man became a big hit on TV. I always loved this take on the whole "cyborg" concept. I hadn't thought about him in years, until I came across this old sketch, with interesting coloring.

An odd little drawing of Solaris. I think I used beer to extend my black ink, and the original B&W version still has a "shiny" patina, in some spots. This scan is of a hand-watercolored Xerox copy of the original B&W drawing. Xerox copies didn't bleed when you used watercolors over them, so it was one of my favorite "gimmicks" before the PC age.

This is a photo of the original paper image, because my scanner is out of order. All previous details published have been taken from this photo, including the Wolverine look-alike image in my previous post. It is actually an altered detail of Solaris, from this image. He's the one with the flaming hair, in the upper right corner. It's nice to squeeze new juice out of 25 year old artwork, but I'm too honest to pass it off as "new." I've added a digitally enhanced version at the top; I just adjusted the brightness and contrast tools, to make it more "comic book" looking, with more vibrant colors.

WE ARE MINDSTAR...Details from 1983

WE ARE MINDSTAR. There is a rich history behind this chsracter, but I have few drawings of him. He is a cosmic union of all of my other characters, in some drawings. Here are some details from a 1983 image, of some of my other characters:

SOLARIS: Lion of the stars. He used to have a lion's face, hands, feet, and tail, in earlier drawings. The important part was that he was a "living star."

WAVELORD controls electromagnetic energy, on a cosmic level. He makes Magneto look like a punter. Notice the water stain, which looks like a special effet, going across his forehead.

MUTE is the ultimate mutation. He can absorb mass or energy of any type, and manipulate it on an atomic level. Though he can speak, he communicates primarily on a telepathic level, which is how he came to be called "MUTE."

STARBORN is my favorite character to draw, and the water stain (yes, that same one from the WAVELORD detail) on this one looks kind of looks cool. Look for future "spacy" versions of this one!

Finally, a better version of COSMOS, THE COSMIC WARRIOR. The previous version of this I posted looks flat, compared to this one.

I will be posting the image of MINDSTAR from this drawing soon, and will post the whole drawing, once I can get a decent scan. These images were taken with my camera, and then altered on my PC. ENJOY!!!

ARZAK is actually a misspelling of the original ARZACH. I knew this when I drew this, but chose the "American" spelling, as I had seen it is some translated versions.
