PAINTING OF MOM: JO HURT, 1953

This is a fake COSMOPOLITAN magazine cover put together by mom's agent. The date is Nov, '53, and she was singing at the Ruban Blue (-eu?) club. It's a beautiful painting, though I'm not sure if it's by Jon Whitcomb. I do remember playing with those Chinese earings as a child. Posted by Hello

SKETCH OF MOM, 1945

This is a sketch of mom, drawn in 1945 by someone on the ship with her when she was doing the USO tour. That is what I remember her telling me, at least. Posted by Hello

WAVELORD, STARBORN & SOLARIS! Posted by Hello

STARBORN: SWORD AND CLOAK

How phallic is the symbolism in this one? I'm almost embarassed to publish it, but after that last one...what the heck! Posted by Hello

United We Stand: One Nation, Under God

This is one of those drawing that just ticks some people off. It's supposed to be about unity under the flag, but it provokes diverse reactions, often very strong ones. Posted by Hello

CAPTAIN AMERICA!

This is an '80's drawing that says alot about my feelings after the Beirut Marine barracks bombing. It's poignant now that we are doing what I wished we had done then. I know he doesn't have a star on his back, it's artistic license.Posted by Hello

HULK is HULK!!!

Havin' a little fun with everyone's favorite green goliath! Notice the She-Hulk tattoo on his arm! LOL! The text is: "Them's pretty small words, Big Man..." and "HULK not Big Man, HULK is HULK!!! This was typed on a typywriter first, with the drawing done around it. In 1985, that was hi-tech, in the USMC, at least. We didn't have any fancy-dancy computers, like the one I used to color and post this online!!!Posted by Hello

TROIKA!

Three of my favorite Marvel Comics characters, with Spidey wearing the infamous black suit that turned out to be a symbiotic lifeform! Posted by Hello
