STARBORN CAPTURED BY "EVIL GUMBY!"

STARBORN, with all his incredible power, is taken prisoner by "EVIL GUMBY." What is our hero to do? A rough sketch, which I committed to finishing into an intense piece of artwork. I hope I succeeded, but it may need some color and hue adjustment, as well as re-framing with a black border. Notice how Starborn is making the computer next to Evil Gumby smoke? This story's not over, by a long shot.

SOLARIS, LION OF THE STARS! March 1985

SOLARIS, when I first thought of giving him a cat-face! I went back and forth with it, over the years, as evidenced in later drawings of him with a human face. The lion concept took, though this is far from it's best incarnation. Look to a future post for my favorite version.

LEAVITT FAMILY ART: CHRIS FINISHING ONE OF BILL'S OLD SKETCHES

This was originally a sketch done by my older brother Bill, who inspired me to be an artist. I found it years after he quit drawing, and made it into what you see here. The colors came out a little too pink in this scan, compared to the paper version, but I still like it, and hope Bill recognizes it, when he sees this post. It has all the earmarks of his old artwork, along with my flamboyant finishing touches. A TRUE CLASSIC.

FAN ART: CLASSIC "STIFF" BATMAN!

This one still looks "stiff" to me, but he's a classic comic icon, so who cares? Dated Mar. '91.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE "DUST DEVIL"

Inspired by Clint Eastwood, this Sept. '84 drawing was done with ink and colored pencils.

MUTE VS. A GIANT ROBOT!

This is an old sketch of a MUTE comic page. I redid the drawing, but decided to watercolor a Xerox copy of the sketch, as an experiment with coloring. This scan is a little brighter than the original, so the color is a little off. If I can correct it on my PC, I'll republish it. This was drawn in the late '80's, probably colored in the early '90's.

WARRIORS!

No date on this one, but it's from along time ago. Water color and prmanent marker were the mediums, if I remember correctly.
